Mens Breakfast on Saturday 8th February

At The White Hart Hotel, Lewes

8.15 for 8.30 am

Speaker: Steve Osborne: " How to Succeed in Business - the Art of Giving Up."

Our speaker, Steve, has recently taken up the position of General Manager for a company at Gatwick Airport. With over 17000 staff responsible for check-in and baggage movement in the airport. You know who to blame if your luggage goes missing.

Before that, he was Director of Royal British Legion Industries, a charity which employs disabled and disadvantaged people and provides welfare, housing and rehabilitation for the ex-Forces community. His particular part of the charity had run at a loss for over two decades; during his three year tenure, he moved it into profit (or, rather, "surplus" as they call it in the charity sector). Prior to that, he had had fun and been blessed in his efforts in turning around businesses in the Tool Hire Industry, Timber Importing and the tenth largest Builders' Merchant in the U.K., which he grew to an £85 million turnover, 600 staff and 16 depots; taking it from a £750k loss to nearly £1million profit in just over two years.

Steve was an informed agnostic until ten years ago when his world fell apart and he found himself on an Alpha Course. "God put his mark on me and I haven't looked back since. I will leave the details until the talk but just to say my home, professional and social life have all changed for the better and continue to improve as as I walk out the path He has laid out for me. It's not all plain sailing by any means - but what a ride!"

Steve is 45, married with two boys (18 and 16) and when not at work or doing "church stuff," he enjoys socialising, running (training for the London Marathon) and playing football (badly).
